So unless you’ve been living under a rock, I know you’ve heard the buzzing new about the thought-provoking documentary, “What The Health”. If you haven’t, shame on you! LOL! 🙂 This eye opening film will definitely inspire a change in diet and overall lifestyle. The critically-acclaimed film, motivated me to make a drastic change in my lifestyle and I’d like to share a few of those changes with you.
While I wouldn’t consider myself to be a “bad” eater, there are steps I need to take toward a healthier lifestyle. Diabetes and Obesity are on the rise. I believe 1 in every 4 adults suffer from Diabetes in America. The statistics are jaw dropping! So I took it upon myself, to change my life and the lives of the ones I hold near and dear to me.
Being the BEST wife and mother requires optimal health. I’m starting with these 3 lifestyle changes.
PLANT-BASED DIET – I know, I’ll be the first to say, very drastic right?! A plant-based diet is what I feel will be best for me and my family.
Do your research. Do what’s best for your family. I don’t want to get into debating my decision to eat plant-based, but I feel it’s what is best for my overall health. I don’t want to knock something I’ve never tried. If it doesn’t work for me, I will go back to consuming meat. But until then, I just feel led to give it a try. Just watch the documentary!! K!
A GALLON OF WATER DAILY – DRINK YO WATER! I’m telling myself too. The benefits of drinking water alone is enough to change your life. I love adding berries and cucumber slices to my water for a little variety. I’ve been loving Tickle Water!
If a gallon is too much, just drink half of your body weight in ounces. Drinking water increases your energy, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins, and improves skin complexion – just to name a few! See, life changing already!
GET ACTIVE – For me, just adding 20 minutes of cardio to my daily routine has been very beneficial. Gotta start somewhere, right?!
When I take my oldest to Tae Kwon Do, instead of sitting down waiting for him, I walk around the facility. If you’re a television watcher, do jumping jack or squats during commercials! Just get active. Get up and dance to your favorite song. Sign up for a local dance class. Whatever you do, just make sure you get your body moving!
For two weeks, I want you to implement these THREE changes into your lifestyle. Join me on the road to a better, healthier life!! Are you ready? Let’s hold each other accountable!
Until next time…
