As I tuck my little ones in bed and kiss them goodnight, I am flooded with emotion. I am reminded of the “little things” that keep me going. It’s the “little things” that keep me sustained and full of vigor. Often times, we overlook the little things motherhood offers. As I am writing this blog post, I am on the verge of tears because honestly, my heart is FULL!
What I have learned in my 5 short years of being a mother is to simply slow down and enjoy the little joys life presents. Enjoy the tantrum. Yes, you heard me! ENJOY THE TANTRUM!!! There is a woman somewhere who so desperately wishes to conceive, carry and give life. Oh, the things she’d do to experience the infamous terrible two’s tantrum or an argument with a THREEnager. Ok, this blog isn’t supposed to be about gratitude, but often times we take for granted those “terrible” moments. We take for granted those moments of frustration or those times when exhaustion kicks in. I’ll be the first to admit to looking for the quickest escape route – some days are super tough! I am learning to live in those moments and not escape them! Don’t let your emotions or state of mind rob you of those priceless, unforgettable MOMents!
Today, in this MOMent, be reminded of the little things. The kiss on the forehead. The hug that magically transports pure love into your soul. The smile that lifts your spirit into a euphoric paradise. The dancing in the rain that seemingly washes away defeat. The laughter that builds faith to do the impossible.
What I am learning is that my greatest lessons are often ones given by my children. They teach me to LIVE IN THE MOMENT! They teach me to hold on to every second. They teach me how to love without limits. Through the eyes of my babies, I can understand the depth of God’s love for me. He loves me. He cares for me. I am precious to Him and there’s nothing I can do to change that!
So today, hug a little tighter, laugh a little louder, love a little deeper, and don’t rush those MOMents! Allow your children to teach you today. I promise the lesson will be life-changing! 🙂
Until next time…
Love you Mommyhero!
Always remember, you are strong, you are great, and you can do anything.
